Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies its results. Pawnee County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When a visitor sends an email, the message may be kept for the time needed to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed outside the organization unless sharing is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically receive basic technical and usage details associated with the visit:
- The device's Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
- The date and time of each page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help measure aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. A browser can be set to reject cookies, although disabling them may change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, maintain, and improve page performance
- Route search entries to the provider selected by the visitor
- Measure which resources are useful and which need revision
- Diagnose errors, misuse, and other technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pawnee County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It provides general directions to records held by the Pawnee County Sheriff, Nebraska County and District Courts, the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Public access to source records is governed by the Nebraska Public Records Law and criminal-history dissemination rules in Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523, not by this policy. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal records, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information entered into a partner tool is subject to that company's privacy policy, retention terms, and disclosure practices rather than this policy. Pawnee County Criminal History does not control those practices, so a visitor should review the partner's terms before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Pawnee County courts or sheriff, Nebraska government portals, legal resources, and third-party search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit and any personal information provided there.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select targeted advertisements. That processing takes place through the provider's systems, not systems controlled by Pawnee County Criminal History.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed only to limited categories of recipients that support or lawfully require website operations:
- Search providers that process a visitor's submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
- Advertising networks that place or measure advertisements
- Government or law enforcement bodies responding to valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to information collected through the website. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, however, so absolute protection against every unauthorized event cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, it will be deleted after the situation is verified.
Your Data Rights
When the Nebraska Data Privacy Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§87-1101 through 87-1130, applies, §87-1107 may allow a Nebraska consumer to submit an authenticated request to exercise rights including:
- Confirm processing and access covered personal data
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete covered personal data
- Obtain a portable copy of eligible digital data
- Opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or covered profiling
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as website practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes available on this page and carries a new effective date so visitors can identify the current policy.
